Attention North Chicago Businesses! Grant Funding Available!

The City of North Chicago’s Economic Development team is pleased to share the good news that the 2026 Small Business Growth Initiative (SBGI), a partnership between Lake County Community Foundation and Allies for Community Business, is now accepting applications to obtain grant funds until April 3 at 5 pm.

The SBGI is actively seeking 16 small businesses in Zion, Waukegan and North Chicago to apply for this grant funding.

Selected participants will receive:

  • $25,000 in grant funding to invest directly in their business
  • 1:1 coaching tailored to their goals
  • Cohort-based learning with other growth-oriented entrepreneurs
  • Access to networks and opportunities to help scale sustainably

This four-month program provides practical tools, mentorship, and a supportive community for business owners ready to grow. Important: Participants must be available to attend the first cohort session on May 18 at 3 PM and commit to the full four-month program.
