City Treasurer

Vance D. Wyatt, took office as Treasurer of the City of North Chicago in May 2021. He is also in his second term on the Foss Park District Board of Commissioners. He is a second-generation graduate of North Chicago Community High School. Wyatt earned his bachelor of science in business management with a minor in public policy from National-Louis University. He also holds a master’s of business administration with a concentration in banking and financial institutions from Concordia University Chicago.

Treasurer Wyatt also has received the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States distinction Certified Public Funds Investment Manager and Advanced Certified Public Funds Investment Manager.  Treasurer Wyatt has also received the Certified Government Investment Professional from the Government Investment Officers Association.  He joins a small group nationally that has taken and passed the rigorous CGIP course work and exam.

In 2017, following the passing of long-standing and well regarded county board member Ms. Audrey Nixon, Wyatt was nominated by the County Board Chairman to serve as a Lake County Board Member and Forest Preserve Commissioner for District 14. He served until November 2018.  He has also served on the North Chicago Public Library Board as a Trustee and the Board Treasurer.
