North Chicago Citizen Recognized for 21 Years of Public Service

At the September 8, 2026, City Council meeting, Mayor Rockingham and the City Council honored North Chicago citizen Antonio Jackson for his 21 years of public service on North Chicago’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Jackson received a Mayoral Proclamation at the meeting.

As a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Mayor Rockingham acknowledged Mr. Jackson’s valuable insight, leadership, and thoughtful consideration on matters affecting the growth, development, and future of the City.

“During his tenure, Mr. Jackson exemplified civic responsibility, professionalism, dedication, and a sincere commitment to the continued progress and betterment of the City of North Chicago. He skillfully led and managed public meetings with fairness, professionalism, and steady judgment, guiding discussions and decisions with respect and clarity even during periods of elevated public interest or contention. We are very grateful for his time and expertise,” Mayor Rockingham said.  

North Chicago’s Planning and Zoning Commission is a local government board that guides community growth, creates long-term land use plans, and recommends zoning rules to elected officials.
