Mosquito Abatement Update

North Chicago contracts with Clarke to provide mosquito control services throughout the city. Clarke delivers an integrated mosquito management program designed to help make North Chicago a more livable and safer community by proactively managing mosquito populations and reducing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

The 2026 mosquito season is entering its peak across the region. Throughout the summer, Clarke’s program remains focused on protecting public health by minimizing the risk of vector-borne diseases, particularly West Nile virus (WNV), while continuing to monitor and manage mosquito populations.

Residents can help stay ahead of the season by practicing the three “R’s” of mosquito protection: Reduce, Repel, and Report. Residents are also encouraged to report locations with stagnant water through the Clarke Portal.
