The City of North Chicago's Foss Park District offers a wide variety of sports activities to keep our youth healthy and active.

North Chicago's Economic Development team earned recognition from the American Planning Association for its Comprehensive Plan-a strategy document that helps the city plan for the future.
Opened in 1911, Naval Station Great Lakes is the Navy’s largest training installation and home to  its only boot camp. Located on over 1,600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places.
Six Unique Schools, One Great Campus-Rosalind Franklin University is located at 3333 Green Bay Rd. in North Chicago. The university’s beautiful 97-acre campus offers graduate-level health degrees through its six specialized schools. Annual enrollment exceeds 2,000 students
At North Chicago Community High School, the faculty believes in empowering every student to excel as a lifelong learner and responsible global citizen. Graduation rates have soared from 70% to 85.9% in just three years!
The North Chicago Public Library, located at 2100 Argonne Drive, houses hundreds of books, DVDs, music, audiobooks, and magazines.  The library also offer computers, free Internet access, passport services, programs, classes and much more!
AbbVie invested $195m to strengthen domestic active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production within the US, with the expansion of its North Chicago manufacturing plant.
The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, located at 3001 Green Bay Rd.  is the U.S. first federal facility that partners the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense into a single, fully integrated healthcare system. 
North Chicago’s Foss Park Golf Course is a public course known among locals for being one of the area's best golf values. The golf course strikes a good balance between being challenging and playable.
EMCO Chemical Distributors, Inc., excels in delivering not just chemical products but comprehensive solutions tailored to customer needs. Edward Polen, EMCO’s founder and CEO, facilitates a people-first culture and remarked, "Building EMCO over the last 54 years has been the greatest privilege.”
Veterans Memorial Golf Course, located at 2821 Great Lakes Dr., is a public course and home to a picturesque 18-hole layout that provides a challenge for all skill levels.
Foss Park Beach is a hidden gem along the shores of Lake Michigan in North Chicago. The beach's amenities include picnic areas and nearby walking trails.
North Chicago’s Middle School, the Neal Math and Science Academy, is a 98,000-sq. ft. school with room to accommodate 625 students. Built with a $40 million donation from AbbVie, this school reflects the potential of its students. AbbVie’s philanthropic spirit is an inspiration to North Chicago.
North Chicago’s Greenbelt Cultural Center, located at 1215 North Green Bay Road, hosts community events and educational programs and can be rented for private events and celebrations.
The Greenbelt Forest Preserve, located at 1110 Green Bay Rd. offers 5 miles of trails for hiking, bicycling, and cross-country skiing.  Nature education programs emphasize fun and adventure and let children take a hands-on approach to nature.
The National Museum of the American Sailor, located at 2531 Sheridan Rd., collects, preserves, and interprets the history of the Navy’s enlisted sailors for the benefit of the Navy and U.S. citizens.
The 96-acre full-service Great Lakes Marina, located on beautiful Lake Michigan at the Naval Station Great Lakes, is open to the public, offering the best in services and amenities, all at a great value.
The Robert McClory Bike Path runs the length of Lake County, knitting together a string of communities on the north shore of Chicago, including North Chicago, all the way to the Wisconsin border.
Lake County and North Chicago have launched the Sheridan Crossing Remediation Project, a major step toward transforming a long-vacant, 40-acre property into a vibrant new development which is located across from Naval Station Great Lakes.
Metra and the City of North Chicago recently gave the city’s station a fresh new look. The station renovation preserved the unique character of the original facility but now provides the community with a shelter that is much more functional and durable.
