Little Obie locomotive headed to North Chicago Public Safety Fair

Railroad safety added to the list of attractions at annual event
NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. (Oct. 24, 2018 ) Little Obie, a six-foot high scale model of a Canadian National (CN) locomotive, will be added to the lineup of other great attractions to promote rail safety at North Chicago’s Public Safety Fair. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. at the North Chicago Fire Department.
In addition to Obie, the Public Safety Fair will feature live demonstrations by the police K-9, motorcycle and S.W.A.T units, police and fire equipment displays, fire department tours, CPR demonstration, free child I.D. kits, free food, obstacle course and more. There will be numerous photo opportunities for children and adults. In addition, the Public Safety Fair consists of more than 15 public safety information booths.
“The Public Safety Fair has been a collaborative effort over the years to provide education to our citizens about the many services available in North Chicago,” said Alderman Bonny Mayfield, Chairperson of the Public Safety Committee. “Public safety is not just about our police and fire departments, it's about all departments and the entire community.”
