NOTICE OF SALE
of Property Owned by the City of North Chicago

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC SALE Is Hereby Given that the City of North Chicago, Lake County, Illinois (the “City”), will hold a public auction on January 16, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.  The purpose of the public auction shall be for the City to accept bids for the purchase of certain surplus real estate described below (the “Property”) in an AS-IS/WHERE-IS CONDITION, WITH ALL FAULTS.  The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the following conditions: (1) Purchaser shall within twelve (12) months from the execution date on the Deed apply for all applicable permits to erect a new single family residential building (“Home”) on the property; and (2) Purchaser shall within twenty four (24) months from the execution date on the Deed: (a) complete construction of the Home in compliance with all federal, state, and local building and housing codes applicable to the Property; and (b) obtain all necessary approvals and certifications to permit occupancy of the Home, including a certificate of occupancy; and (3) Purchaser shall not sell the Property, within sixty (60) months from the execution date on the Deed, to a third-party other than an owner-occupant.  The minimum bid which shall be accepted by the Corporate Authorities shall be not less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00), payable in cash, cashier’s or certified check, with the balance due within 5 business days from receipt of notice of the auction results.

 

Bids shall be accepted by no later than January 16, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., addressed to City of North Chicago Department of Economic & Community Development, and delivered to 1850 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago, IL 60064 in a sealed envelope bearing the label “Surplus Property Bid” followed by the Property PIN.  All bids must contain a bid guarantee in an amount no less than 10% of the bid price in the form of a cashier’s or certified check.  Bids will be opened at the City Council meeting on January 16, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

LOTS 23 AND 24 IN BLOCK 57 IN SOUTH WAUKEGAN, BEING A SUBDIVISION OF PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 44 NORTH, RANGE 12 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, RECORDED OCTOBER 7, 1892 AS DOCUMENT 51243, IN BOOK “C” OF PLATS, PAGE 38, IN LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
