Invitation to Bid: Sale of Surplus Vehicles for the City of North Chicago

The City of North Chicago is soliciting sealed bids for a lot of 5 surplus vehicles to be sold as is. Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until July 12, 2022 @ 4 pm local time. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on July 12, 2022 @ 4pm at city hall. Proposals not physically received by the City by the above-stated date and time will be returned unopened to sender. The City will not accept changes to bids based on a bidder’s mistake of fact, which could have been corrected before submitting a bid. Packets are not available on-line. Emailed or faxed bids will not be accepted. Minimum bid is $500 for any vehicle.

 All proposals should be addressed in a sealed envelope with the Item Number (s) clearly written on front of the envelope to:

Name, address, and telephone number of bidder must also be listed on the outside of the envelope. Bid forms can be received at the City of North Chicago outside Bill Payment Center.

Vehicles may be viewed, and are located at the Public Works Yard, 1421 Renken Ave., North Chicago, IL on July 12th between 2:00pm-3:30pm

The bid will be awarded to the highest responsive and responsible bidder. The winning bidder will have until 4:00 PM on July 22, 2022 to provide payment to the City and to remove said surplus property from the North Chicago Public Works Yard. Payment for the vehicle lot must be in the form of a cashier’s check, money order, bank certified check or cash.
